Who we are
CorTec is a German clinical-stage neurotechnology company, founded in 2010, with one purpose, to restore independence to people with neurological conditions. We build implantable systems that communicate directly with the nervous system.
Our Brain Interchange platform — a fully implantable, bidirectional brain-computer interface (BCI) — is now in clinical evaluation with patients, opening entirely new treatment modalities while gathering the data that, with AI, unlocks future therapies.
We also provide implant technology to others in the global neurotechnology field, so together we can reach more people than any of us could alone.

How we pursue it
With Brain Interchange, we advance our own brain-computer interface toward the clinic, working to restore function where today's care reaches its limits. With our CDMO, we put the same cleanrooms, processes and expertise in the hands of partners, from the first idea to the finished device, so the whole neurotechnology field can move faster than any company could alone.

Everything we make is developed and manufactured here in Freiburg, where academic excellence meets the edge of the Black Forest. Our premises sit near the Airport Campus of the University of Freiburg, in a city built around nature and world-class research, close to the people and institutions that move neurotechnology forward. Here we operate cleanroom facilities, certified to ISO 14644-1 class 6 to 8. Quality comes first, and it is built into every step.
