Protecting the electronics inside the body

An active implant only works as long as its electronics stay dry and insulated inside the body. Hermetic packaging is what makes that possible, a gas-tight ceramic housing that keeps body fluid out and protects the electronics for the life of the implant. We develop this packaging around your device, from the feedthroughs and housing to fully integrated subassemblies, rather than fitting your electronics to a standard part.

High-channel encapsulation

Modern implants carry more channels in less space. We build hermetic encapsulations with high channel counts, with a ceramic cover that can be replaced by a metal cover where an application calls for it. Miniaturized, custom form factors make implants smaller, lighter and less invasive, which also means lower power consumption and more freedom in how the whole device is integrated.

Subassemblies and protection

Beyond the housing, we bring the surrounding protection and integration together into finished subassemblies. Silicone overmolding adds flexible, biocompatible protection in the shapes and form factors your device needs, and combines with the hermetic encapsulation and the interconnect into a subassembly that is ready to build into a complete implant.

Proven in Brain Interchange

This is the packaging behind our own Brain Interchange system, which runs 32 recording and 32 stimulation channels through a hermetic housing in the body. The same capability is open to the devices we develop with partners.
